  Hells Angels party mainly trouble-free

Canadian police say their close scrutiny of this weekend's Hells Angels 25th anniversary party in British Columbia paid off in an incident-free event.

The party was held near Vancouver at property owned by the Hells Angels' White Rock chapter. And while several motorcyclists complained about what they considered an oppressive police presence, the party went off without a hitch, authorities told the Vancouver Sun.

Sgt. Shinder Kirk of the British Columbia Integrated Gang Task Force said Sunday that bikers were forced to use one entrance off the main road to gain access to the party and that U.S. bikers trying to attend the party were turned away at the border.

The newspaper said it monitored the party throughout the weekend, counting 100 Hells Angels in attendance and witnessing only one incident that had the potential to escalate into a violent conflict.
